A lot of things can be done in 1 year
Moonbeam, the first fully-operational parachain on Polkadot, has reached a significant milestone, celebrating its 1-year anniversary. In the past year, Moonbeam has seen tremendous growth, with over 1.6 million addresses created, of which 80% were created in the past three months. The platform also saw an average of 14,825 active accounts per day and 24.2 million total transactions since December 2021.
Moonbeam’s success is attributed to the strength of its developer community, with the platform ranking as a top EVM chain by weekly active developers, behind Ethereum and Polygon. Developers on the platform have access to resources such as the MoonAccelerator program, funding through the Arrington Capital Ecosystem Fund and community grants, as well as education through the docs site and Moonbuilders Academy.
The platform has also seen over 200 projects launch on it, including 52 DeFi, 25 NFTs/Marketplaces, and 7 games/gaming projects. Additionally, there are currently 68 collators in the active set, including 4 spots occupied by independently-run collators in a rotation program run by the Moonbeam Foundation.
Privacy is coming to town
Last week, MantaPay retired its Testnet v2 in preparation for the launch of its final testnet, v3. This testnet is the final version before the beta mainnet release of MantaPay on Calamari Network, which will be the first private payment system within the Kusama ecosystem.
Testnet v3 includes new features such as cross-chain messaging (XCM) and support for ERC20 assets (through Moonbeam), which make private transactions simple and fast for users. This testnet is also incentivized, with users able to qualify for rewards by completing tasks and providing high-quality feedback.
After the launch of MantaPay on Calamari Network, the incentivized testnet activities will conclude, but the testnet will continue to run and introduce new features before their release on mainnets.
