A little bit of chit-chat

If you have received wBTC on your Osmosis address, probably it’s part of the effort put up by the Osmosis team to alleviate users who are victims of the v9 exploit. The Rektdrop will continue in the coming days, so if you have not received your funds and were a victim, allow a bit more time. If you want to check out an approximate figure of how much you will receive, here’s a calculator tool

No with Veto 👩‍⚖️

Governance votes in Cosmos have three options but the official definition of one of them, No with Veto, is currently under a vote. Proposal #75 wants to clarify the meaning of voting “No with Veto”, and it defines the option as follows:

“A ‘NoWithVeto’ vote indicates a proposal either (1) is deemed to be spam, i.e., irrelevant to Cosmos Hub, (2) disproportionately infringes on minority interests, or (3) violates or encourages violation of the rules of engagement as currently set out by Cosmos Hub governance.”

The proposal will not change the economic implications of a proposal being vetoed by the community (i.e. the burning of the deposit). It is intended to serve as a guide for voters and promote standardised governance reasoning.

A roadmap to Neutron 🗺️

Neutron announced its launching sequence a week after InformalSystems unveiled the Interchain Security roadmap.

September 19th: The codebase of Neutron will be audited by Oak Security, a well-known firm in the Cosmos ecosystem.

October: The team will launch its first and most experimental testnet.

Q4 2022: Neutron will solve any vulnerabilities detected by the audit and upgrade the protocol.

Q4 2022: A second testnet named Hadron will launch, allowing builders to deploy dApps on top of Neutron and use Interchain-enabled smart contracts.

Q4 2022 – Q1 2023: The launch of the Byron testnet will be the last step before the mainnet. This will be an ICS-enabled testnet with the full features of Neutron.

Q1 2023: Mainnet launch!

Once mainnet is launched, we will start to see the dApps being built on or coming to Neutron from ecosystems beyond Cosmos.

Grow Juno grow! 🚀

There’s a current discussion within the Juno community to expand the efforts of the recently launched Terra Fund to invest in and attract new projects beyond those built on Terra. If passed by the community, the Juno Ecosystem Growth & Sustainability Fund (JEGSF) will create a subDAO to manage the funds and investment on behalf of the community.

Two sources will fund the JEGSF. One is the remaining resources on the Terra Fund, and the other would be the 75% of the 2,200,000 JUNO remaining on the JunoSwap incentive pool.

According to the proposal, JunoSwap’s roadmap and projections were made during a bull market, assuming favourable market conditions. The proposal then seeks to prioritise overall ecosystem growth that will theoretically boost the utility and value of JUNO and RAW.
